Claire has worked extensively as a Workshop Leader and Acting Coach. She works one-on-one with invididuals - from young actors starting out on their first professional feature film or theatre role, to those auditioning for drama schools.
She has led acting workshops for the Ambassador Theatre Group on numerous workshops attached to West End Shows, including the recent production of A Doll's House (which transferred from the Young Vic, and was directed by Carrie Cracknell) Posh (which tranferred from the Royal Court), The Woman in Black, Old Times, Lion King, Chicago and Wicked. Claire has also led workshops with the Open University for their Shakespeare: Text and Performance module on performing classical theatre, as well as Pinter workshops for the University of the Third Age. Claire has also worked for the Donmar Warehouse as a facilitator alongside their all female production of Julius Caesar with Harriet Walter and Frances Barber.
Claire regularly teaches Acting at stage schools and on adult evening classes. This has included classes for adults with Stage and the City and The Institute (HGSI), and with young people for Anna Fiorentini Stage and Screen School, and Dream Arts. Claire is a fantastic teacher, extrememly talented, creative and encouraging in her direction and analysis. She brings out the best in everyone and is incredibly hard working and supportive. I would highly recommend her to anyone!
I've taken weekly acting classes with Claire for years which in itself already says a lot about Claire, as I wouldn't have done so had I not liked her style of teaching. Being an actress herself she is very good at illustrating acting techniques, but she is equally good at judging scenes from a director's point of view thus giving valuable input for developing scenes. She's able to find the right approach for each and every student, while always being friendly and professional. I would totally recommend taking lessons with her if you want to improve your acting skills.
